Werner Bilfinger Confirmed as Participant at LARMS 2026

CBMR is pleased to announce the participation of Werner Bilfinger at LARMS 2026. A Civil Engineer from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a master's degree and PhD in Soil Engineering from the same institution, Werner is a partner at Vecttor Projetos and has extensive experience in Geotechnical Engineering. He served as President of the Brazilian Committee on Tunnels and Underground Spaces (CBT) from 2017 to 2018.

At LARMS 2026, Werner will participate in the roundtable "Rock Mechanics Applied to Tunnels and Infrastructures". For him, the topic is increasingly relevant in the Brazilian context: as construction projects in major cities such as São Paulo move beyond sedimentary soil basins and into rock formations, rock mechanics applied to tunnelling becomes an essential and growing subject for the entire technical community in the country.

Organized by CBMR, in partnership with ABMS and the Brazilian national group of ISRM, the X Latin American Rock Mechanics Symposium (LARMS 2026) will be held from August 26 to 28, 2026, in Brasília (DF), Brazil, alongside the XXII COBRAMSEG. Under the theme "Rock Mechanics for a Sustainable Future: Innovation in Mining, Energy and Infrastructure", the event will bring together specialists, researchers, and professionals to discuss technical advances and current challenges in the sector.
