LARMS 2026 announces the confirmed speaker professor Manchao He, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the State Key Laboratory for Tunnel Engineering at the China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing.

Internationally recognized for his contributions to the field, professor He has distinguished work in landslide prediction, large-deformation disaster control in rock masses, and innovation in mining technologies, in addition to leading major research projects.

Organized by CBMR, in partnership with ABMS and the Brazilian National Group of the ISRM, the 10th Latin American Rock Mechanics Symposium (LARMS 2026) will take place August 25–28, 2026, in Brasília (DF), Brazil, jointly with the 22nd Brazilian Congress on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (Cobramseg).

With the theme “Rock Mechanics for a Sustainable Future: Innovation in Mining, Energy, and Infrastructure”, the symposium will bring together specialists, researchers, and professionals to discuss technical advances and current challenges in the sector.
